I agree with David French on TikTok, but with one caveat. He says China *can* use the app to divide us… I say that China already has done so! Look at its success in turning so many young American adults — the platform’s key demographic (and our country’s!) — against Israel and “Western colonialism” post-October 7. This has not only created division within the US, but has seen its youth radicalized against both a strategic democratic ally and, crucially, against the democratic west overall.
I saw the autopen portrait on Jimmy Kimmel last night and did not immediately realize that it was genuine--I thought it was a bit. I am just out of adjectives/vocab--reprehensible/awful/disgusting/disgraceful--these words, which would not normally have been used icw an American President, now don't go far enough.
A grand jury of our peers had to have agreed with the prosecution that there was enough evidence to indict Mr. Comey. How were they convinced? Was the evidence presented by the prosecutor made up? Was the explanation of the law to be followed misleading or false? I am not suggesting that there is any evidence of wrongdoing - I'm just concerned that these grand jurors agreed that criminal charges should be filed. Why did they agree?
So much to say nothing and Comey will be exonerated. In the meantime, he will have to pay his defenders very dearly. Method that has become a classic of this administration. Of course it works on undocumented, on the former FBI director, we can have some doubts, can’t we?.
In ancient Egypt pharaohs would sometimes try to obliterate the images of their predecessors. So it is no surprise that Trump would do the same. I am only surprised he included Obama in the line up.
The Comey thing: overreach in this case might actually be a good thing. It looks like it worked because on my fast reading I don't think you mentioned the Epstein files once.
Hopefully the generals will not be forced to sign loyalty pledges or NDAs and they will be able to maintain a Thomas More strategy of saying nothing.
