I know this is way late, but, Justin Woolfers, the occupants of the White House actually pay for their own food.
I learned that just this week reading about Melania, and, how frugal some first ladies tried to be to keep the food bill down.

The ARTS are the most important thing to civilization!!! And I was a Finance major because I grew up without a lot of money and had to pay for my own college education, so I was more concerned about getting a paying job! My daughter has a degree in Art History, and I supported her 100%. She also earned her Master's in Museum Studies and is now happily working in the Museum field, which she loves. Now, my other daughter was in Environmental Studies with Political Science; however, now she is in sales, selling data, and loves what she does. Both are two different paths, but both are where they should be. But I stand behind my first sentence - we need always to support the ARTS. Without them, our lives would be boring and devoid of civilization.
Switzerland deserved that yellow card. It was a blatant dive and the rules dictate a review can be initiated when a player gets a card. The Swiss player should not have dove already being on a yellow. Simple as that
Wow. What a podcast. FWIW, I was an English Literature major who eagerly took Philosophy 101, found it to be nothing like what I had expected, and barely squeaked by with a C.
The difficult thing Justin is that “the American people” are BOTH the consumers and, through their 401(k), investors. I am not worried about speculators or those in the C-suite who are the biggest owners. But it seems like when the market crashes or a bubble bursts ordinary investors are hurt from the decline.
Professors Wolfers is right on target that food prices will go up but he glazed over that poverty, starvation and homelessness are very real in the 'developed' world. America has millions of working poor who only survive w/ the help of our social programs and food banks. Let's not ignore the reality of poverty in America or the wealth gap because it isn't an uplifting story we can spin on the evening news. It's real and we ought to start speaking to these people and helping them. Poverty isn't a moral failing, its the reality of a system that is engineered to benefit those at the top and ignore all else. Our current Autocrats/Kleptocrat don't care about the poor but we ought to give them voice. They can't buy influence like the wealthy and their voices and needs are largely ignored.
The beauty of a liberal arts education is that you could, like me, double major in economics and art history. This assures you embrace your full self while still having a viable career. That’s why I totally left the economics degree in the closet and have had a great, long career in the arts!

Does anyone even believe anything that comes out of Trump’s mouth anymore? He threatens to destroy Iran one day, then flip flops the next. They are rational people one day and the next day they are scum and coo-coo.
