Special Kinzinger-Sykes Video

Adam Kinzinger and I try to explain it all.

Something a bit different for the weekend.

My friend, Adam Kinzinger, and I sat down this morning to catch up with the chaos and crazy— and are cross-posting our conversation on both of our sites.

We talked about snow-blowing, this week’s drone hysteria, President Elon’s big move, (and his latest neo-Nazi flex), and why Adam is not scared of Donald Trump’s threat of retribution.

We also talk about what’s it’s like breaking with the tribe and finding ourselves as political orphans in the wilderness (fun!).

If you haven’t already done so, I strongly recommend that you subscribe to Adam’s newsletter and his outstanding video updates.

And watch this space for more pods/and videos. especially now that Adam taught me how to do it.

To the Contrary is a reader-supported publication. You may disagree with me from time to time (and I expect you will, because I’m not promising you a safe space here). But I’ll always try to give it to you straight. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. (And I’m immensely grateful for your generous support.)

ICYMI: This is one of the pieces we mentioned: “Elon Musk endorses far-right [neo-Nazi] German political party, wading deeper into global politics.”

Who, you ask is the AfD? Among other things: “The AfD demands a “reversal” of Holocaust remembrance in Germany, states that the Nazi Schutzstaffel were “not criminals”, and has memorialized Nazi leaders.”

Via The Financial Times:

Some of its politicians have sparked controversy. Höcke was fined €30,000 this year by two different courts for using banned Nazi slogans. In 2017 he described the Holocaust memorial in Berlin as a “monument of shame”.

In an interview with the Financial Times in May, AfD MEP Maximilian Krah said of the SS, the group that ran Adolf Hitler’s extermination camps: “Before I call someone a criminal, I’d really like to know what he did personally.”
