The culture and climate Trump created and enjoys personally are becoming more pervasive throughout the Administration. The FCC example provided from Pro Publica is one of many. When regulators are guilty of blatant violation of Federal law, we can only conclude there’s no constraint at any level. The ‘pay to play’ approach works! Opportunities for this corruption are rife throughout the Federal government. DOD struggles to replace shrinking munitions inventories and flip to drone technology. Someone else wants to clear the water in the reflective pool, etc. We also know Trump’s sons and Cabinet members have their noses in the public trough, so leadership really does start at the top.
Not only will we struggle to overcome the consequences of purchased decisions, but it will also take time to weed out newly corrupted members of the bureaucracy.
I knew he was bad but I didn’t know he was THAT bad. Wasn’t he a former prosecutor? I’m surprised no one who worked with him at the DOJ has been interviewed to see what he was like while there? Has he always been like this? Was he an unpopular jerk who is now seeking revenge? Or is it just greed and lust for power that motivates him? I’d sure like to know (not that it matters—a soulless sociopath is a soulless sociopath regardless of the reason), but I’m curious.
This post reminded me that I am not the crazy one. It also reminded me that in 2017, I paid $7.75 in federal taxes for every dollar President Parasite paid.

It makes me wonder how someone like Senator Tillis can actually say he is almost satisfied with what he has heard from Mr. Blanche. This guy has so much on his tally stick that it would be like letting the convicted criminal take over the prison.
Nota Bien Charie: The NY Times is reporting retiring Senator Thom Tills of my home state of North Carolina is "leaning" yes. The threat of retribution has Republican Senators quaking.
Thanks Charlie: When does congress vote for the disqualification of Todd Blanche. I listened to the hearing and found it a bit of a sleeper. I though there would be more fireworks. This fellow hasn't even got the qualifications to be a criminal (yet too be proven) let along a national attorney general. His love affliction with the president should disqualify him from any government agency.
That which Trump does can be undone, provided Trump can be unseated.
Trumps entire cabinet and even SCOTUS and most of the federal judiciary are slavishly loyal to him., which means that they are assured that there will be no retribution, no penalty for their crimes and misdemeanors.
They know something that the rest of us don't know because our media, including internet pundits are too afraid to utter the words.
He ain't going nowhere because he controls DOJ and the Pentagon. and 35% or more of the populaiion, his cult, own more firearms and weapons than the other 65%.

What exactly are "American Values" with Trump as the standard bearer? I hope no one buys these gold coins, and that we can gather them together someday to melt them down, much as Moses melted the Golden Calf.
THAT should be emblematic of American Values.If the Senate confirms Todd Blanche after everything we and they know about him, I will have to acknowledge that we are a failed state and that justice no longer exists. For me, it will signal the end of our democracy. I feel that strongly about this.
Trump is clear about his goal: he's burning the government down. What remains dangerously unclear is whether the men and women we elected to protect our interests are going to stop him.
Only in Trump's America: the nominee for AG is currently under referral to the NY Bar for misconduct in Trump's so-called legal case against the IRS, with its demand for lifelong immunity from investigation by the agency for any and all behaviors. During today's confirmation hearings, TB stepped in it by blurting out he's "Trump's lawyer." Oops. It's sad indeed to know this guy was once extremely well liked, and held in widely high regard during his ten years at SDNY. Even opposing counsel more often than not admired him as a decent person within the profession. We have to say it over and over again, daily: Everything Trump touches dies a moral, if not actual, death.
