Thank you Charlie and to the others. Looks like Cuban has begun to bend the knee - might take him off. Most of us are grateful and hope there will continue to be a bi-partisan coalition. Even though I disagree with most of Liz Cheney’s policy positions, had the Dems made her our candidate, I would have voted for her.
Did Psaki own up that she was wrong about Dems' sidling up to Never-Trumpers? If so, she's still on solid ground. But obviously, if it helped, it was insufficient. Besides, other than their honest peers, who listens to "conservatives" today anyway? Who the hell IS a conservative today anyway? And what the hell is "conservatism" today anyway? The Republican Party is no longer conservative in the traditional Reaganesque way. They're fascist. But they still cling to the term. Is it the job of Never-Trumpers to wrest the term away from Republicans? These days Dems would rather debate with conservatives, but there aren't many around in Congress. Is Reagan's conservatism as dead as buggy whips? For now at least, I'd say so.
Thank you Charlie for this article. If the corporate media had spent less time normalizing fascism and actually reporting on the full scale voter suppression tactics in the red states the outcome may have been different. Red states passed laws that made voting more difficult and were outright racist. They have been doing so for the last eight years. Gee, wonder why trump won ? Jen Psaki your Monday morning quarter backing is so completely wrong.
Like so many things, Psaki and the Dems got it wrong. Teaming with Cheney was one of Kamala's best moves. If only there had been more time to campaign, we might not be in this mess. Don't blame the Never Trumpers: they are my heroes, know how to fight and win, and give the best advice.
I've been primarily a center-left democrat my entire adult life, but I've considered it to be a honor to be on the same team as the Never-Trumpers such as yourself, Ms. Cheney and Mr. Kinzinger. My regret is that Kamala Harris didn't attend and make a statement about where we're are as a democracy under Trump. Her silence has been most disappointing to me. She ran to be the leader of this country and now is the time to show presidential leadership, when it is hard and scary. But you do it anyway. These are the times that try men and women souls. May God bless America.
As a left of center Democrat who hasn’t voted for a Republican since before G. W. Bush (not even for dogcatcher), the last six years or so have given me a re-appreciation for principled conservatives who have been there, done that and got the t-shirt from the heart of the Republican beast, before seeing the bridge too far in their headlights and saying “I won’t go there”.
God bless them for their honor and backbone. And bless them again for the lessons they can impart to the rest of us. After all, they’ve been up close and personal with these idiots in power and can relate some of their hard earned lessons to the rest of us. In fact, they’ve been doing just that for a few years now.
And though I certainly don’t speak for all democrats, Kamala Harris’ embrace of them only solidified my respect for her.
The fight directly ahead of us will be won by those who put country and truth above party. In this respect, Never Trumpers and other principled conservatives have already paid their dues in blood. Will Democratic leaders be willing to do the same? Will we?
That’s the question directly in front of all of us, and anyone who answers that question and personal challenge in the affirmative is my brother or sister.
I'll admit I was viscerally repelled by Harris' embrace of war criminal DICK Cheney. That was going waaayyy too far. The campaigning with Liz was a desperate move, so maybe the optics there weren't great. I personally didn't think Liz’s support hurt, though.
As a longtime Democrat, I cannot believe that there are a whole lot of progressive voters out there that the party just isn’t getting anyway, anyhow. They wouldn’t vote for Kamala Harris because she chose to appear with Liz Cheney to defend America’s democracy? Not likely. Harris did relatively better in the battleground states where she campaigned in person — including appearances with Cheney — than in safe blue states where she didn’t. I doubt that Harris has any second thoughts about teaming up with Cheney. Do Democrats really think their position is so strong that they don’t need any help from Republicans who can’t stand Trump. This Democrat, for one, doesn’t think so.
I like Jen, and I watch some times... she is not always on target though (my opinion), and as great as Charlie is i don't always, always, always( 😉 😜 ) agree with him, but mostly yes and in this case. Jen is still finding her niche i think possibly. Glad I don't have to pick one or other. ▪︎▪︎▪︎■■■ 😁Although, I should note that in her case, as I said, "I watch some times". ¤¤ But I have a paid subscription to Herr Charles 😆😁😆

Charlie, I am on the center-left & I welcome you and all your fellow Never-Trumpers into our fight for our country (such that it is).
I’m a liberal and I was thrilled when Harris and never trumpers like Liz Cheney joined forces. What Psaki is saying makes absolutely no sense to me.

I was thinking of Tibetan monks this morning and mentally thanking them for producing good
vibrations that reach into the world.
I have never opened my front door hanging on
to a list of how to be good all day long. I have never
needed to. Because I thought my behavior had little
or no effect.
But when someone puts my grocery cart back, it's a
big deal.
I want to be a big deal too. Just notice the little
things I can do to lighten someone's day.
On purpose.

As a lifelong Democrat, I’ll take Charlie and Liz over Jen any day

Our country needs ALL of us.

It’s just plain stupid to think we don’t need conservative (or other) allies.

There are many progressives who greatly appreciate principled conservatives joining in the fight.
