Senator John Lee, who made a series of disgusting social media posts joking about the slain and injured Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses, is the great grandson of the infamous John D Lee, who led the Mountain Meadow Massacre in southern Utah. The Lee / Udall family has a long history in politics, not all good, not all bad, but certainly has enjoyed the success of their family names to win on tickets across Arizona and Utah for decades.
Thanks for posting this - wonderful comment/letter from Senator Smith's staff. It may do little good = in terms of impact on anyone who would do this in the first place - but it was the right thing to do and very well said.
I took a look back today on the reactions in 2017 when Steve Scalise was shot. Republicans blamed the shooting on leftist rhetoric and democrats like Pelosi and Gabby Giffords called for gun control. 8 years later and the rhetoric from the right is beyond out of control and guns are much easier to obtain. Even if one state has laws that make sense, people just cross state lines into states that don't. Has any republican condemned this man and his actions?
Another cat that really needs belling. I am glad he is not one of my Senators.
We have another oversight problem in CA right now. But my sincere condolences to the people and the appropriate government people in Minnesota. May God have mercy on Mr. and Mrs. Hortman. And a quick and complete recovery for the Hoffmans.

Mrs Hartman was shot 8 times throwing herself on her daughter to shield her. Husband shot 9! Republicans have sold their souls.
