When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn't become a king. The palace instead becomes a circus.

Huge fan of your dogs and you, of course. Keep up the fabulous work you do. We have a long way down still to come..I fear I may not live to see a normal life return before I depart this earthly coil.

We’ve been waiting for this moment for three years. Putin needs peace, and he needs it fast. The West has many levers to secure a just peace for Ukraine — if the U.S. and the EU act together. The kind of peace Ukraine can achieve with Western support will determine whether this is truly the end of the war or merely a pause for Putin to regain strength and launch an even more devastating conflict.

Pressure from business elites and the economic wing of the government, skyrocketing prices, and a manpower shortage at the front—right now, a united West has the opportunity to apply maximum pressure on Putin and secure real security guarantees for Ukraine. But this will only be possible if the West stops fighting among itself and instead starts a real fight against the anti-Western coalition and its rogue enforcer—the Putin regime. Weakening the Kremlin = weakening China, Iran, and North Korea = greater stability and peace in different parts of the world.

It won’t be full justice—Putin will still declare victory, retaining control over some annexed territories. But it will be a peace that can stop wars for many years. Follow my page for full reports and articles here https://substack.com/home/post/p-158800832

Thank God for the dogs. So much shit-foolery; so little time. I can think of so many ads that the Dems could be blasting showing what a chump Trump is to Putin. And yet. They dither. They cling to power like drowning rats to a raft. Am I wrong in thinking that someone like Mark Cuban (or himself) could help lead us from this hell scape of Trump 2.0? The established Dems are just hapless as hell. No balls. No plan. No where.

Trump won't "defy" the courts. He'll just [continue to ] say that they are wrong and out of line so he's not obligated to abide by their outrageous rulings. As Jamelle Bouie noted in a very smart piece today, this is not just unconstitutional, but anti-constitutional, which is a key difference.

How long must this clown show last? Perhaps now that the clowns have curtailed access to Social Security offices and are requiring folks applying for benefits to visit fewer offices in person, this circus will shut down.

"But David Graham notes what Roberts left out:"

" ... But the statement is notable for what it leaves out: any acknowledgment of the substantive dispute in the case, which is whether Trump is defying court orders."

That is a matter that is not before the court that may come before the court. It would then get fully briefed and argued. Only then could Roberts opine. It would be unethical for him to prejudge the matter before it is properly before the court.

Agree, no more denigrating clowns…I too recently had to change a phrase I often used. Old phrase: Our Politics should be defined by how many people we can show love rather than by how many we choose to hate…New phrase: Our Politics should be defined by how many people we can show love rather than by how many we think it’s ok to murder. 😢

I believe I can clarify your observation "Musk may be a one-man (clown car) shit show," by explaining that Musk is the shit show while the Tesla Cybertruck is the clown car.

Shit show is the common description right now for all things GOP. Local, State, National - it’s all a huge shit show.

Trump is too capricious, disorganized, lazy, vain, stupid and driven by knee jerk malice to have any strategy whatsoever. Putin plays him every time. Plus, the coordinated assault on the executive branch institutions, judiciary, universities etc. is straight out of the authoritarian playbook; silence dissent, replace a meritocracy with kakistocracy of sycophants and voila. To me, worryingly, this activity smacks not of cadet bone spurs, who lacks the intellectual capability and focus to carry this off, but of SS Oberguppenfuhrer S. Miller (yes, I know he's Jewish, but I stand by the parallel), Russ Vought and the other henchmen of their ilk, for whom Trump is just a useful idiot.

On a much more pleasant topic, I have to say that the picture Charlie posted yesterday of baby Eli sleeping on his back was one of the most charming puppy pics I have ever seen...

The Nobel Peace Prize should go to those who bring real peace—not those giving Putin time to prepare for another war.

Putin, backed by China, Iran, and proxies, pretends Russia has won while struggling to send reinforcements without full mobilization. Soaring military costs and sanctions are crushing Russians' livelihoods, driving up prices. Now is the time to intensify pressure, securing a just peace for Ukraine—not surrendering to Putin’s ultimatums and his anti-Western coalition’s attempts to humiliate democracy.
