“I thought only the hippie dippie types would get their Ag Dept funding cut. I thought only criminals would be deported. I thought only bad girls seek abortions.” In some way Trump was a Rorsach Test for people who heard only what they wanted to hear and were quite sure they were among the elect that would not suffer under this administration.
To MAGA, the suffering of others is a feature, not a flaw. Some, like Skylar the farmer, gleefully continue gloating; I suppose the idea is, even if he loses his family farm, at least lots of others will too. Leave the silo on Substack and you will find plenty of posts cheering for the apocalypse. Like the fellow who blew up the Cybertruck in Vegas.
As far as the non-MAGA Trump voters, I must hold my tongue as their regrets and reversals may be all that saves this country. Some people must learn things the hard way. It does make me want to bang my head against the wall in frustration, though.
Charlie, thanks for sharing the regretful stories. It's good start, but Fox is likely shielding its viewers from the carnage going on. How do we break through the MAGA propaganda and educate people that indeed DOGE is coming for them too, not just the elite, woke, libs?
The laundry list of outrageous, immoral, and unconstitutional actions will continue and continue. I have this underlying fear that we will never be able to recover from this catastrophe in progress. What could cement my fear further would be a possible (or likely) financial crisis which requires knowledgeable and experienced leadership. Simply put..knowledge and effective leadership is present neither in the Trump Administration nor in Congress. Such a crisis would set the table to allow the taking of even more aggressive steps towards an autocratic government.
From Trump voter Crystal Minton in 2019: “He's not hurting the people he needs to be hurting”. Well, I guess he's now hurting the "wrong" people: Trump's own supporters. Who could have guessed that there is percentage in the politics of hurting people...
I think that only half of American voters are stupid. The other half are geniuses. What the problem today is that we have silo information voters that are easily influenced by our social media companies.
I listened to someone complaining that the mainstream news was just so liberal now that he couldn’t stand to watch it anymore. I watched a Sunday morning news/ political show with 3 Republican politicians in a row as guests. I asked him to explain how that fit in with the biased opinion, and his answer was that they were only politicians and they were only asked liberal questions.
Of course by the time any of them finished their answer it was time for the next commercial break, which almost seems to be the entire point of the show.
Low information was a problem when I was raising a family and working 60 hours a week. I am now retired and find myself with information overload, which is also a problem. Too many books to read, too many articles to scan, too many videos to watch. Can’t hardly find the time to talk to people any longer.
The more I learn the less I know. It seems much easier to just think that I am on the genius side of the median, rather than the stupid side.
Thanks for the details about people suffering personal harm from this psychotic administration. I am sad and sorry for the injured innocents. Many people are going to die needlessly from the cruelty of these predatory sadists in charge of US government agencies now. Democrats, liberals, citizens, can broadcast and fight against the draconian acts; when the maga's realize they are equally targeted, maybe we'll end the oligarchy takeover after all.
I totally agree with Christina!
Thanks for all you share.
MORE DOG PICTURES PLEASE!!

Thank you Charlie! You’re helping all of us fight the good fight by sharing your talents! We are in this together - 👍🏻

Preach, Charlie. I wish the Dems were broadcasting this stuff like you are. If only they had been warned, indeed.

Indeed. They want to break everything so they alone can fix it by cracking down.

America, time for Howard Beale. Look it up.

I think people should be reminded of Putin and Iran losing Syria, while Assad ran to Russia. how about journalists ask him (Trump) about that position!
