I have thought long and hard about how difficult it must be to support someone who is the antithesis of everything to which you would normally subscribe. Voting for someone not because a policy or policies appealed, but because the other choice was unthinkable. My heart clenches. My stomach roils—really. It makes me feel sick. But I honestly believe I would strike out for the other shore if someone like Trump were my party’s nominee. I am saddened at the thought that Liz Cheney, one of the most deserving and honest citizens of our times will never be able to go back. But I would hope that the never-Trumpers and others will come together to make a party that is better by far than what the current Republican Party has turned into. Kudos to Liz. Many people recognize her worth, and I hope accolades will be forthcoming.

I don’t agree with her on much of anything, but she has just shown this country what integrity, honesty and love of country look like.
