I don't blame Smith. I do blame McConnell, Garland, the media and numerous members of Congress who showed their lack of commitment to their oaths of office and to doing what is right. The people let this happen. We aren't smart.

We’re going to need many more dogs than you currently parent in future days. Now that trump, undeterred, has shown us he is indeed lord of the underworld and our country the path to ever deter him appears impossible. Each point of hope is extinguished as trump with his Project 2025 plan the final decimation of “We, the People…”.

Such a sad, pathetic legacy. And he, Jack Smith, left with no Democratic options.

Why are you treating this as an actual decision Smith made and not a reaction to credible threats of violence or imprisonment against him?

The justice system failed us. The MSM failed us. And the voters failed us. We the people were the last rampart against tRump and we FAILED to hold him accountable. God help us all.

The sad optimism of those who say that “without predjudice” actually means something. Apparently, no one realizes that the stable genius actually has outfoxed the entire system of accountability that is supposedly maintained by longstanding institutions. Let’s face it: one non-very-bright man was able to con a boatload of people with law degrees, Ph.D.s, huge media followings, and others whose naivete is now just too embarrassing to acknowledge. We’re all fools, as it turns out. We thought we could stop him without actually trying to do anything.

I've heard that by stopping the prosecutions now, it gives Jack a window of time to prepare and release reports for both cases. That's the only way all the additional evidence and testimony will ever see the light of day. If true, he made the right decision I think.

What do we now do with "Innocent until proven guilty" when you are not given an opportunity to prove the guilt? I would just say "guilty"--it is very obvious to anyone not in the cult.

Don't blame Merrick Garland. His approach was proper, adhereing to the rule of law. Blame the people who voted Trump back in. If they had not voted Trump back in then he would be headed to prison.

I’m still gobsmacked over this, and how quickly Trump “ascended” to the Presidency before inauguration. Does he think he’s going to win the Nobel Peace Prize now for all his international musings?

Good Lord, what happened to Biden? He just vaporized.
