Musk & Ramaswamy are about to learn a giant issue with the federal government. Most of what the government does has powerful supporters.

The government does not have large projects (outside of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, & the Military). Instead it has departments that have projects that have initiatives. The money is down in all those myriad initiatives.

The example I use is too long for a comment but I wrote it up in full at https://liberalandlovingit.substack.com/p/why-musk-will-struggle-to-downsize

I've been thinking about what is the solution is to the Orwellian Media Propaganda and Media Stratification?

It seems to me that the Dems and Independents have to fight more aggressively to control the airwaves and deliver a clear narrative. They need to flood the zone, purchase networks, radio stations, build and develop an army of influencers, and reach more people!

In other words, develop an aggressive, revolutionary approach to media outreach to defeat the misinformation and propaganda!

As if all of what you’ve so eloquently outlined here isn’t bad enough, I was horrified by today’s NYT article saying that Trump’s followers think these appointments are utterly wild and wonderful. Where did our educational system fail us? Do they have no idea of the risks we face when we essentially turn our nation over to Putin? Do they not realize how many hundreds of thousands of people have labored earnestly for almost 250 years to ensure our freedom and safety? This is wild…but not in a positive sense.

You wrote: "“Zealots, and toadies, and cretins. Oh My” — I had no idea of the avalanche of grotesqueries headed our way."

I am reminded of this line from "Blazing Saddles:"

"I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists."

I’m Methodist - clergy, as a matter of fact - but choose to have a good sense of humor when it comes to being lumped in with this motley assortment of fools.

David French surfaced this gem from Hamilton: The Senate's power to approve or reject a president's top nominees “would tend greatly to prevent the appointment of unfit characters, including those who had no other merit than that of possessing the necessary insignificance and pliancy to render them the obsequious instruments of the president's pleasure.”

Bizarro times and the Orange Oracle is just getting warmed up!!!! He may be holding most of the levers right now, but he’ll find a way to screw it up. Good news is, less than 2 years before the next mid terms.

Anyone who wishes to criticize NATO and NATO membership should actually read the North Atlantic Treaty and each of its 14 Articles. It is apparent that neither Gabbard nor The Oathbreaker have done so. (https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/official_texts_17120.htm)

Thank you for reporting these picks more factually than many who are talking about them as if they’re surprised. I wrote the following at another site that failed to connect the dots to “this is what fascists do”and seemed to be warning this choice would be bad as if we have any other choice now. It’s important reporters report this take over factually. No one should be shocked or outraged. Here’s what i said:

If you meant what you said that electing Trump is the end of democracy why is anyone surprised? What else would you expect? Why are these picks worse than Steve Bannon threatening non Maga’s in the nastiest of voices - like a true tyrant? He’s simply proving what so many said - he’s a danger to America.

Mainstream news must report it as “just as General X said he’s a danger to America having chosen Tulsi or a sex offender rather than act aghast that he picked who he picked. Report that you were right not that you’re surprised since if you’re surprised then you misrepresented that he’s a fascist. You were right then, so don’t misrepresent now. Take pride in your accurate reporting. He’s taking down rule of law as expected. It’s what fascists do.

Why don’t we all start calling him King Trump or President AKA King Trump. Call it what it is. Let’s see how people like having a king. Let’s stop pretending he’s anything but or that we can do anything about it now. We really can’t. Democracy is over and the sooner we accept that the sooner we can do something to bring it back.

Acting surprised only undermines your credibility. It’s disingenuous to judge these picks as anything other than what we expected. We’re lucky he chose an attorney to head the DOJ. It could have been Roger Stone or better yet Eric. I’m waiting for Kim Kardashian to head up maybe the FTC or the treasury. Oh I forgot his loyal accountant will probably get that job if he’s out of jail. Hard to keep track of that. Then again Kim would look better on cash. He’ll definitely want someone glamorous to replace George Washington unless he decides to put his picture on all cash from now on. I wonder whose picture is on cash in Russia or North Korea?

If anyone thinks judging these picks as bad choices will accomplish anything positive, they’re delusional. Reporters need to report the facts. This one is perfect for a fascist because…. She will be reporting to Putin so our former partners won’t be sharing top secrets and things like…. will happen.

People chose Trump because they’re sick of hypocrisy. What did Biden accomplish as the protector of our souls when he welcomed Trump as if he’s not about to destroy this country. Yes, democracy means a peaceful transfer of power but not a dishonest transfer of power unless Biden was lying to us about how bad Trump is. He could have stated they will cooperate for the sake of the Constitution but he’s handing the country over with great sadness. No one has ever handed our democrscy over before. This wasn’t about they didn’t like each other but shake hands and get along. This is handing over democracy. It must be peaceful like a funeral.

People want authentic government so they chose an authentic con man who’s good at conning. Biden should have stood up for democratic values by doing what he had to do without being phony.

This is an opportunity to teach the public about what we just lost. The time to warn us is over. Now it’s time to report the fascism as it’s happening so people will become more motivated to form an opposition to it. What you’re doing by discussing these picks as if it would be anything else is keeping the frogs in the boiling water long enough to end their lives.

If you meant he’s a danger to the country when you reported it - if it was a fact - report the dangerous acts as “I told you so’s,” not “what if the senate endorses him.” Why wouldn’t they endorse him if they supported a person who led an insurrection? Help the people who haven’t had an authentic education due to WhiteChalkCrime.com grow up and jump out of the boiling water
