I'm also of a vague belief that it'll be difficult to find construction workers, buildings will be blown up, how come we haven't heard from the Saudis, the war in the middle East will flare up, and dear and Glorious Leader will be willing to send our young men to die. Did I leave anything out?🤔
Anybody, including the Israelis, ever stop to consider that there are older Israelis who have figured out one way to stop critiques from Israelis citizens of how to get away with getting rid of Palestine is to start ethnic cleansing which would get young Israelies killed?
If I were Israeli, I'd apply to immigrate. Why would I want to watch my family's children be murdered? Where's the future in that process?
Only extremist republicans and End Times nut jobs want this. Unfortunately, there are a lot of looney Christians longing for the Rapture (which they are certain they will be a part of). That belief in itself would keep them out if God was following his published blueprint.
In Wisconsin, Robin Vos posted “Hell yea this is what I voted for and it’s even better than I expected.” So, the MAGA are thrilled this is happening and don’t see this as any kind of a problem at all. They swear they will stick by him no matter what. When our own elected officials don’t see this situation as dangerous or illegal, the game is over.
Enough with this nonsense of being snarky to Dems who didn't support Harris because of her refusal to support Palestinians.
Haaretz has a good piece this morning pointing out the insanity and frankly brazen indifference to the basic humanity of Palestinians, which I've reproduced before.
1. First the Biden administration not only does practically nothing for Palestinians being slaughteted, worse they were the ones providing the weapons Israel used to do so.
2. Then Biden just kept folding to Israelis despite Israelis repeatedly ignoring pleas to allow aid to enter Gaza.
3. Biden followed up by blocking any efforts to hold Israel and Israeli leaders to account for brazen war crimes.
Oh and btw, Bulwark contributors, with the sole exception of Saletan, enthusiastically supported this approach for a year.
4. Harris then takes over as standard bearer. What does she do? She spits in the face of Palestinian Americans by stringing them along at the DNC and ultimately denying them a platform while simultaneously giving Israeli hostage parents a platform.
Dems & Bulwark then have the audacity to blame young voters for not showing up to vote for Harris? JUST STOP.

Even before U.S. President Donald Trump stunned the world by suggesting the United States could take over Gaza and turn it into the "Riviera of the Middle East," politicians and pundits were mocking anti-war voters who sat out the election over Joe Biden's handling of Gaza and the few who backed Trump after he promised to end the war.
One prime example is CNN contributor Bakari Sellers, who attacked Layla Elabed, the co-chair of the Uncommitted movement, a group formed last year to pressure Biden to secure a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas. Elabed wrote: "Trump's illegal calls for ethnic cleansing are horrific, but as on so many other issues, Democrats had a chance to persuade voters they were the better alternative and they blew it."
"There were two choices in the campaign," Sellers commented, "there was not a question [now] about ethnic cleansing if Kamala Harris would have been the president of the United States."
These admonishments aren't only reductive – implying that those who did not vote cost Harris the election and were therefore responsible for potential ethnic cleansing in Gaza – but also reveal a lack of genuine concern for ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The fact is that Harris didn't just lose in Michigan, she lost in all battleground states. She also lost the popular vote, making her the first Democrat to do so since John Kerry.
More than losing on a variety of issues unrelated to the Gaza war, Harris' statements on the war were tepid. She never firmly advocated for ending the war or ensuring the safety of Palestinians.
During the war, the Biden administration failed to apply the necessary pressure to secure a deal. Meanwhile, Trump went to Michigan and plainly promised to end the war, declaring that on his first day in office it would be over.
During Trump's first term, liberals said: "Don't focus on what he says, focus on what he does." Applying that same standard to the Biden administration – by ignoring their lip service about a two-state solution – the past four years have been devastating for Palestinians.
When Sellers claims that under Harris there wouldn't be ethnic cleansing, he forgets what life looks like for Palestinians on the ground, that the year before October 7 was the deadliest for Palestinians in decades, that communities in the West Bank were being uprooted like never before. Ethnic cleansing is not a term from another world for them, it was an always present threat.
Sellers' attacks on Elabed epitomize bipartisan indifference to ending the conflict. As a student body president, he attended AIPAC's inaugural conference, and in 2016, as a representative, he pushed to exclude the depiction of Israel's presence in Palestine as "occupation" from the Democratic platform.
Israelis, too, have endured war, terror and the October 7 Hamas attack while Biden and Harris were in the White House. Millions who took to the streets demanding democracy and the removal of Israel's racist, messianic government were left stranded.
Democratic elites have ignored their base – not just under Biden, but for decades – hiding behind the mantra "America stands with Israel," which is just a variation of "thoughts and prayers."
Trump's statements have emboldened Israel's right, fueling delusions rather than fostering new ideas. Gaza won't turn into Monaco, but Jenin is more likely to become the next Khan Yunis.
The people who saw their call for a cease-fire ignored and were enraged at the Biden administration aren't "pro-Hamas," nor are they anti-American. These are Americans who are concerned about what their country is enabling, and where it is going.
The United States is Israel's closest ally and the world's most powerful country, giving its citizens and leaders outsized influence over global affairs. Instead of retreating into cynicism or deflecting from their failures, liberals must reckon with the way they failed their constituents, ceding leadership to Trump and his "Project 2025" allies, and how they also failed the world."
I am curious as to how the always-trumpers are justifying the incursion into our databases (and info that could be sold to hostile powers), the potential loss of funding for programs that benefit nearly everyone at some point in life, the loss of freedom and the insanity of plans such as seizing Gaza. How do they justify this now, and what narrative will they use to blame it on the democrats if it backfires wildly? I am also concerned that hostile foreign powers (or hostile, sociopathic billionaires) could, quite literally, empty out our treasury? Anyone want to offer some wisdom? (I’m actually smart enough to know that there is a great deal I do not understand.)
tRump IS America. He reflects who you are. He reflects who you've been. And he is what you will be. You will soon learn what it's like to be hated and distrusted by the world (except for international grifters, whom tRump will embrace). Americans are disgusting the world and disgracing themselves. You are a laughingstock. You are stupid. Your gravity means people have to watch you, like a mad rhinoceros roaming around a campfire. We live in fear of the beast's unpredictability. Eventually it has to be avoided at all costs, or put out of our misery. The sooner, the better.
I remember, some time back last year, Don Jr. or Eric said that Gaza would be great property for resort development. A Trump Organization business plan?
I think Netanyahu's right wing has other plans for Gaza and it does not include becoming a Trump resort development. One has to wonder what is going through Bibi's mind as he works with Trump. Not only does the rest of the middle East think this is crazy but Israeli's whether one state or two state supporters do to.
BUT I have a feeling this is a headline distraction to pull attention away from more nefarious plans that we will know nothing about until it is too late.
The fpotus/MuskX administration defies laws and the constitution because they believe no one will actually prevent them from wreaking havoc. No one at DOJ will stop them. The duo despots have Republicans in Congress ignoring the breaches. Even some Democrats are confirming the weasel nominees. This administration will ignore court orders; and who will enforce them? Maga police? Only massive public resistance may slow them down. Fpotus may walk back his "foreign policy" crackpot ideas; but the damage to our once democratic republic is epic.
"Bauer and Goldsmith examine a third possibility: that “the administration doesn’t care about compliance with current law, might not care about what the Supreme Court thinks either, and is seeking to effectuate radical constitutional change.” WHO DID NOT REALIZE THIS LONG AGO?!
You can (and will) think whatever you want of my country. But since you seem to enjoy being a troll about it, I think I'll just save myself some time and block you, rather than try to deal with you. Bye, Richard.
I'm also of a vague belief that it'll be difficult to find construction workers, buildings will be blown up, how come we haven't heard from the Saudis, the war in the middle East will flare up, and dear and Glorious Leader will be willing to send our young men to die. Did I leave anything out?🤔

Oh boy. I see an employment opportunity!
Can I be first to join the bomb squad headed for Gaza?
Only extremist republicans and End Times nut jobs want this. Unfortunately, there are a lot of looney Christians longing for the Rapture (which they are certain they will be a part of). That belief in itself would keep them out if God was following his published blueprint.

You should write a book, I normally will read long screeds, but this was both TL?DR
And mostly a screed against people who's opinions you don't like...not very liberal of you at all
"Don't blame disillusioned Democratic anti-war voters for Trump's Gaza take-over plan"
OK, I won't.
But one question: Where are they now? Where is the protest against Trump's Gaza take-over plan?
I am curious as to how the always-trumpers are justifying the incursion into our databases (and info that could be sold to hostile powers), the potential loss of funding for programs that benefit nearly everyone at some point in life, the loss of freedom and the insanity of plans such as seizing Gaza. "Anyone want to offer some wisdom?"
I have no wisdom to offer, but I agree with your post completely.
"(I’m actually smart enough to know that there is a great deal I do not understand.)"
(Me too. Does that mean we're both excused from the Dunning-Kruger Effect?)

No, Trump is NOT America. He is not most of the people I know. And like it or not, if America disappears, the rest of the world will also pay.
I remember, some time back last year, Don Jr. or Eric said that Gaza would be great property for resort development. A Trump Organization business plan?

May I come back as a dog owned by Charlie in my next life. I would love to go on burger runs !
Were Eli and Augie protective of your older, precious dog? (I can't remember his name, sorry.) They look so noble and protective. Just wondering.
"Bauer and Goldsmith examine a third possibility: that “the administration doesn’t care about compliance with current law, might not care about what the Supreme Court thinks either, and is seeking to effectuate radical constitutional change.” WHO DID NOT REALIZE THIS LONG AGO?!

C'mon folks! We the People need to stand up now and support and defend our Constitution or lose it forever!
It's all over but the crying and executions.

Nope.
PETE! I feel better for seeing the picture of Pete.
I love the boys. Also loved your live with Steve Schmidt.
Why isn’t Elon Musk removed or detained? And those “engineers” who are commandeering all of our data?
This shitshow isn’t going to last for four years. This is only two weeks and it just feels so dangerous and so fucked up.
Can’t wait for the podcast.
tRump and Musk ARE today's America. Put Musk away?? He's the new imperial leader (tRump himself is too dumb and self-possessed). THEY are America.
