I’m just wondering if the skewing of news sources rightward might have anything to do with people being so overly concerned about the extremely small number of transgender athletes competing in school sports?

Do people really think that children who face ostracizing criticism for their life choice are doing so for a competitive advantage? Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!

Charlie, I hope I haven’t missed a podcast; didn’t check Substack much over the weekend or even yesterday. Your literal voice is a calming presence for me, even when the latest indignities of the Criminal-in-Chief are discussed. Thank you for what you do.

Wow, thanks for linking to Scott Pelley’s commencement speech - that was well worth listening to!

“Aggressive suckage” - another great new term to add to my growing reservoir of snarky terms. Thank you! As the situations you’ve so vividly described continue to deteriorate, I remained stunned that so many people remain solidly MAGA. Do they not read? Even if they don’t read the news, his twitter posts make no sense. Do they not listen to him speak? It’s complete word salad. He’d be more at home in a memory care center. I do hope the democrats will stop doing business as usual and move into places where people are. Do podcasts. Talk to people. Organize. You are correct, Charlie. Rumination from on high won’t solve this problem. (And I’m a lifelong democrat, so I’d like to be partial, but what we are facing is far too dire to waste time on partisanship.)

Behind EVERY Bully is a Coward, but something tells me a Bully who spent his formative years in the KGB is going to be a million times better at concealing it than someone who spent his formative years living off Daddy's money, groping women, and pretending to be his own publicity agent.

Scott Pelley is a true hero of the Resistance. He's got to know his days at CBS are numbered, and he's going out righteously, making the most of the platform he has while he still has it. Thank you, Charlie, for amplifying his voice. And thank you as well, Charlie, for standing up, writing and speaking truth to power. Now, please if you will, cover King Charles' Throne Speech in Ottawa today, and it's oh-so-diplomatic smack-down of the American threats to our sovereignty. True North Strong and Free!

Charlie

Again, you have been one of the first voices of never Trump starting in Milwaukee on your radio show . You have done a tremendous job bringing so many people from all walks of life

From democratic, independent

non-political

And Republicans, which many are now former Republicans

Putting thoughts out there

Assuring everybody, they’re not crazy

Pointing out what’s going on

Raising awareness and increasing people’s knowledge

You have always included other people’s articles within your post for us to read that we

Helping form a huge coalition to fight, fascism and authoritarianism and the destruction that is being done to our country

Our constitution the rule of law and everything we hold dear by way of rights and freedoms

Lately on sub stack you will start reading an article and all of a sudden it will fade away and says you can’t finish reading it until you pay

I do get not being able to leave a comment if you’re not a paid subscriber.

Oh my gosh, who has the money to subscribe and fund every single writer that has very good content and an important perspective or knowledge?

It would be my hope that this independent media is a coalition of people that want to keep people, engaged and informed.

I really appreciate that you leave everything open for people and include pertinent other content that everybody needs in order to have a full understanding and knowledge of what’s going on in the world around us so we can continue to stay engaged.

Thank you

We've got a Republican Party taken over by the MAGA faction on the "right" and a Democratic Party on the "left" that can't figure out which end is up and spends millions of dollars on wasteful studies. Please - can't we just have a normal party dedicated to the principles of our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution? Why do we always have to label things as "progressive," for example? That word tends to turn off certain folks. As does the word "conservative." All of the points made in the Atlantic article that Charlies cites about Americans being "progressive" on certain issues and "conservative" on other issues are simply a reflection of We the People caring about why we established our Constitution in the first place - to, among other principles, promote the public welfare and secure the blessings of liberty for our posterity.

“Remarkably, Trump’s magnetic personality and aggressive suckage of Vladimir Putin did not end the war in 24 hours”— i love u Charlie! But does this also mean we won’t be in the “golden age” & the bill is not big & beautiful? asking for a friend…what a disgrace & we are not the crazy ones!

So thankful for Scott Pelley speaking truth to power, at great risk to himself. We need more like him.

Sounds like Harper’s article in the Atlantic is a good starting point! I feel like a progressive but can agree with a lot of his findings.

DEMs already have a diverse set of constituents who need to feel that someone cares about them, but that is not enough! They should make ordinary Americans feel like they matter, too!

I think Trump and Putin pre-arranged this whole thing. Trump never wanted Ukraine to succeed. I think they agreed in advance to make it look like Trump was seeking peace, then Vlad would attack Ukraine. It is part of Trump's ritual humiliation by Putin, which Trump knows he is obliged to play along with. After all, Putin is the senior autocrat to whom Trump must pay tribute. It was a way for Trump to look like a peacemaker, while guaranteeing that Ukraine continues to get pummeled -- which is what both men want.
