So what’s worse, a weird press conference from a former President Trump, or NO press interaction beyond a few minutes on a tarmac, whatsoever from Unelected Primary placeholder Harris. I say placeholder because she will be replaced after the DNC in Chicago by Hillary or Michelle so addressing the press isn’t on her (Obama’s) radar. She knows her role and is playing it nicely.

Some day, my political differences with Charlie may matter again. For that to happen, the populist-authoritarian threat has to be beaten back, so Charlie and I have more in common than not. Afterward, I would happily be friends with a conservative who shows such kindness to children and animals.

As always a great piece and I thank you Charlie for your continued work on democracy! The last photo deserves no less than a 8x10 blow up and a prominent spot on your wall! I call that priceless

We're lucky Kamala didn't choose Shapiro. Not because of any anti-Semitism or other such stuff. The two of them are both Stars. Putting my screenwriting hat on, you cannot put a Star in a supporting role; it doesn't fit, they're bursting to explode out of the role, and it makes the whole production unbalanced. There is no way Shapiro could have believably acted as Walz did at the Philadephia rally where he got introduced. A Star cannot be a second banana. Walz is a perfect fit for that role and he is and will continue to be perfect at what he's there to do. He'll win the Oscar (Vice President) while Kamala wins her Oscar (President).

And it's not like Shapiro has nothing to do. That Starring performance he gave on Tuesday as the Governor of Pennsylvania (a starring role) was tremendous. And he didn't get in Kamala's way, and all was perfect. And he can go across the country, being the Governor of Pennsylvania and a Star, and be great. It's not like like we're not going to see him doing great things for the next 30 years. But if Kamala had chosen him as her VP, they'd have harmed each other.

Casting for the role is crucial, and Kamala got it right. It's a show we all love watching.

Let’s hope The Orange One continues holding “press conferences.” Who the hell will vote for this guy? His 2016 role is wearing thin. Time to take MAGA election deniers in local election offices seriously. Trump has said he doesn’t need votes. Take him seriously!!! VOTE people VOTE!!! He is going to try to steal the 2024 election!!!

As Rick Wilson put it, Trump's long past his Fat Elvis stage. Now he's a Fat Elvis impersonator, doing a Tuesday night show at a diner/casino/unlicensed brothel in Elko, Nevada. And Chris LaCivita is the washed up singer on break from washing dishes in the kitchen, trying to do backup for him. The crowd's small and the regulars are too drunk to care.

Powers that be in the GOP know he's mentally deranged and know he has no interest in governing; he just wants revenge. So maybe he's just a beard. The question is who is actually going to be pulling the strings behind the scenes? The Democrats should play this up.

The Trump-era will be a study in psychology as much as history in the far future.

Heritage Foundation and the people behind Project 2025 are going to be pulling the strings. They've been telling us that for months, if not years. Just because Trump is trying to back away from it now because it is unpopular, make no mistake that it is exactly what they intend on doing if elected.

Love the new old white guy look, apparently temporarily replacing the old orange guy look.

Thank you for highlighting A.B. Stoddard’s concerns about election officials who are, in fact, poorly disguised conspiracists. This begs the question, since we are clearly headed for an epic constitutional crisis, how do the good people of this country and the leaders of the Democratic Party prepare?

Every member of Congress, who occupies a “safe“ seat, in a Republican district, will indeed vote against certifying the election results if Trump loses. What are we going to do about that? With the likes of Mike Johnson as Speaker, is there any doubt that this is where we are headed?

Election non-Certification:

"There are more than enough such individuals in these key posts to bring us to a constitutional crisis.."

Imho, THIS started out to be why he golfs vs campaigns, have any campaigners on the ground.

He trusts his insiders will do the work to deny Harris the election.

The cognitive decline only cements their need to organize in a manner where they do not certify if, WHEN, he doesn't win.
