Looking at the situation from a cost/benefit perspective, at what point does cost (loss of rights, threats to our benefits, political prosecutions, politically-driven distribution of public resources, distortion of history, obliteration of truth, etc.) exceed the benefit we receive from being part of this country as it currently exists?
What we really have to ask ourselves is what does he need the military, the JAGs gone, the FBI, the Justice Dept to do? What comes next? This is the only the beginning.

It continues to strike me that, while the MAGA contingent talks tough (like something out of a “B” movie script), none of them have done anything courageous in their lives. It took genuine courage for the Capitol Police to resist the mob. It took genuine courage for people like Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney to stand up for patriotism, even though it cost them their careers. It takes genuine strength to speak up at town hall meetings, march in the streets, contact our representatives - knowing it may all come back to bite us later. It takes courage for well-known people like you to write columns on Substack, knowing this draws attention to you. Courage is coming in many forms. But it’s not occurring in this administration. That’s called bullying, and bullies are frightened cowards.
