The Nobel Peace Prize should go to those who bring real peace—not those giving Putin time to prepare for another war.

Putin, backed by China, Iran, and proxies, pretends Russia has won while struggling to send reinforcements without full mobilization. Soaring military costs and sanctions are crushing Russians' livelihoods, driving up prices. Now is the time to intensify pressure, securing a just peace for Ukraine—not surrendering to Putin’s ultimatums and his anti-Western coalition’s attempts to humiliate democracy. Yes Donald emulates Putin. I knew someone who heard from his architect colleagues involved with the renovation of the Commodore to be the Grand Hyatt..Meetings with trump went on interminably and often ended with one or another architects in tears..he tortured them.

Not get involved in disputes betweem]n the branches?? Isnt that especially the supposedly non-political Supreme Court’s job?? Especially vis a vis the executive branch—the most likely to become “kingly”—the purpose our country revolted 250 hears ago this year, & formed the following year!🙄😠

Quick update as I’m listening late. as of now,Senator Chuck Schumer has seemingly caved… again. I’m sure many of you good people know this already. but I’m pissed and it’s too late and anxiety filled to hold back on.

Sometimes it’s better to make the sacrifice and stand firm on what’s right and even if not proper,by some Dem leader’s standards. it is to the people supporting them! I’m on disability and I worry every damn day lately. especially as I’m still waiting on a second damn trial for the rest of a settlement (hopefully) it’s been over 6 years since the last one and I don’t complain about too often. but sometimes it’s the chance we have to take for a future known. Even if it’s not the one you planned on. the anxiety Schumer is adding is just pure BULLSHIT! we never know where we stand, except the bottom these days. So pissed right now at our “leader” please retire from your position as minority leader Senator Schumer!

Shout out to U of I! My son in law attended there before he and my daughter started the same nursing school. I used to love the interaction of the football games, way back in the 80s 90s. and my daughter was part of the two time governor’s cup winning Marching Band!

Thanks as always Charlie for the content. I hope to get you back someday soon!

I have become more on the fence as to whether Democrats in the Senate should vote together to allow a shutdown or not. I realize there are several points in the house version sent to the Senate that is poison to Democrats. A few of the questions I have are: Wouldn't shutting down the government allow Trump messaging of blaming everything on Democrats? Let s face it, Schumer and Senate Dems are out of Trump's league when messaging. 2. isn't the Gov. half way shut down now because of all the firings? Like I said, I'm undecided about the Dems best course action here.

Dems have to learn to GET OUT THEIR OWN NARRATIVE!!

Instead of passively waiting for maga to do it!

Dems will be humilated and get bad stories about them by maga, no matter what they do or don't! Their job ist to be the opposition party!

I agree. A shutdown would absolutely be blamed on Democrats. It’s a gift to Trump. But if this CR with all of those cuts passes, America won’t like the consequences. It’s a no-win situation.

Dems wouldn't be shutting down the govt, they'd simply declining to participate. I personally think they should stay home the day of the vote. Watch it all on CSPAN as Rand Paul votes to shut down the govt and John Fetterman votes to keep it open.

I am almost of the thought that Trump is drowning right now. So don't give him a lifeline.Shutting down the gov.might just be a lifeline to him.

Why does Trump let Elon inflict DOGE on our country?

Why does Trump insult & threaten our allies?

Why does Trump do what Putin asks?

Occam's razor explains it.

From everything I have seen of him, I truly believe that Trump wishes he had the power to murder anybody who doesn’t go along with him. No conscience and no remorse. Just take them out.

Okay, I changed my mind. Schumer convinced me. I forgot a central point about shutdowns, partly because it seemed to be a kind of a joke to me as an employee. A couple of times, I was considered essential, the rest I wasn't. But I KNEW that it was a joke, and that I'd get paid in the end with a job. What I forgot is the fact that the guy in that big White House was in charge. And HE controls what's essential and what isn't. Given that the chainsaw fool is already cutting whatever he wants, POS could just decide that NO ONE is essential except for the POS lackeys. The courts would have no control over whatever happens. During that time, he could also declare martial law or follow the Alien Sedition laws. And no one could stop him. We would essentially be doing what happened after Hindenburg died after appointing Hitler as chancellor. When Hitler became the president as well, country was doomed.

Right now, Bernie is saying that the country is against what's going and they will take to the streets to stop it if POS takes full power. I'm afraid I don't have his faith in the people. Hell, they didn't bother voting when Biden and others were warning against POS.
