The joy of pups running off leash through a wooded area rich with things to sniff is a good thing to think about right now.

I’m particularly galled by the capitulation of Paul Weiss. These guys could stand a stand against the obviously bad faith actions of Trump and perhaps give up a little of their millions to protect democracy. Instead they chose to protect their bottom dollar. It’s truly shameful.

Interesting news: AOC rally in Tuscon had over 20,000 attending, making it the largest rally in AZ history.

And I subscribe to a number of actual news services (AP, Reuters, etc.) and the coverage of these rallies has been thin. One has to wonder why--- although I heard one was actually on CSPAN which I find reassuring.

Too bad our leaders aren’t brave, with a great heart, like your Pete!

The older I get the more I like dogs ( all animals really), as opposed to humans. 😞

I sit in wonder looking at the politicians, both Republican and Democrat, who are worried about being primaried. So what? You don't really think you have any power any more, do you? In your fear and greed, you have allowed all power to be taken from you and those who could follow you will realize it is a joke and waste of money to run. Do we truly believe there will ever be an election that isn't rigged by Trump? Or then again, do we truly believe we will have any more elections? My heart is breaking for my country.

It must all come down to ego, pension plans and opportunities for future grift.

More dog rambles! This must be a Wisconsin thing? Lol…

I have one question that I just can’t seem to understand. Lisa Murkowsky again mentions that they’re afraid of being primaried or worse. Thus such silence from MAGA leadership or representative. (no calling them Republicans, people. They’re not.)

First of all, this is BS. They’re home now, and in the lap of their constituencies. This is where you tell the truth, inform the voters of what Trumpism actually is. But all they show is craven selfishness and cowardice. And they put us all at risk by okaying dangerous cabinet nominees. Old news, I know, but it’s going to bite us all in the butt.

The obvious solution would be to work with the Democrats. Those who still think they have the right to call themselves Republicans who actually would like to CONSERVE the tenants of our constitution can simply vote with Dems.

What would actually happen? Are we expecting hit squads and dead politicians from the Trump mafia? Or, are they really saying that their seats in Congress, making them more well-off than most via the largesse of Americans are more important to them than the voters who trusted and put them there to protect them and the country?

First, dead politicians or family members would make a lot of noise in the media, and with this environment we’d have no doubt where the noise came from.

Second, no job is worth your values, ideals or beliefs. Not one. If it is, you’ve lost your way as a human being. (Reading Careless People at the moment, and let me tell you, people who have lost their ways.)

I’d really love to see what would actually happen if they voted their stated ideals and beliefs against a bully who is changing the entire world order, arguably not for the better. I thought strength came in numbers, so having 60 when joining with Dems in one block of senate (Unless Schumer over thinks and over frets and pushes for that non-existent hand across the aisle) vs 40 can determine a lot of stalemate and force Trump to go it alone. The worst that can happen is that Trump Vetoes anything that they might put forward. And we’d go around in circles – as we’ve done at least 12 years in Congress. Their job would simply be to stop Trump, and from the look of things back in their home states, it doesn’t look as if they’d pay a price at all.

There are so many things to be investigating, but they’re still stuck on Hunter, and now they want to investigate the attack on Israel on Oct 10? Why is that our business or concern? How about 200 people shipped to El Salvador in possibly the most horrific prison situation not named Russian, and there is zero transparency. As well as there being no clue where a file kept by Yale in cooperation with our military with vital intel on Russian War Crimes as well as Ukrainian Children kidnapped and taken to Russia for indoctrination (forced labor or worse)?

Not a peep from really anyone in congress.

I’m disappointed, to put it mildly, by those lawmakers to the right (there is a separate critique for those other ones, but this is about the right) who can’t seem to muster an ounce of courage to do one thin: : the right thing for the country.

I’m continually taken to the last stanza of our National Anthem. When is the last act of courage that you’ve seen from any one person on the right not named Kinzinger or Cheney or those forced to tell the truth under oath? This does not include those who slunk away quietly without a peep.

And when will we hold their feet to the fire?

Companies, organizations, and the few ethically-closeted GOPers have too much to lose to fight against autocracy and oligarchy!

The courts may hold but are far too slow!

We will have to rally the 81M Biden voters to put some punch in our fight-back!

I can really relate to Pete wanting to lead the way. When I do that, we usually get lost.

I did not fully appreciate how much damage could be done in one week but thank God, Chuck Schumer can turn to AOC and Bernie for help.

Schumer reminds me of Marshall Mcluen where the media was the message in the early '60's. It looks like he's about to read from "A Childs Garden of Verses." Really terrifying.

AOC and Bernie will only take the Dems back to when we got into a lot of the trouble we're in now, the Great Awokening of 2020. Bronx speak and Bronx attitude doesn't play at all well in Peoria. Bernie's even more toxic west of the Hudson.
