Well, at least Trump KNOWS he won't get the Nobel Peace Prize. And people say he is cognitively impaired!
I guess the neocon thinking now is an extension of the Rumsfeld Law that we go to war with the government we have no matter how incompetent.
Also there is so much irony that the neocon wet dream of regime change in Iran is happening just as the avenues of democratic regime change in America are being closed off.
Also of interest is the progressive response to this conflict with Iran.
Beyond the recklessness of the Trump administration I want to know where John Thune was when he allowed a briefing of only republicans. He is aware of the team of 8 being briefed on any plan for war. He has proven to be a weak leader and a boot licker for Trump.
We are fully a dictatorship now. Congress is simply there to rubber stamp.
MIGA? Does anyone remember Bin Laden? How did he, wisely strike the US, and howmuch better do you think real haters have gotten regarding how to hit us? With this overly bragging administration, one that the Canadian PM had to frequently cut the mic to our lying President, I'm going to say that I think Hegseth and Trump are the liars, although I doubt they're knowledgeable enough to know. They made a move, and I guess the war is won.
Are any of them thinking of the great culture shift that possibly just instigated? I heard the Iranian leader address a very angry country with, "Trump started this, and we will end it."
I don't see anything positive in the short or long term. Mr. Hegseth, there were reasons all the other Presidents were cautious regarding Iran. These people are willing to die for their causes. Can we say the same thing for Americans? Especially when a great many of us don't agree with your "cause".
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Israel bombed Iran. But Trump told Iran to stop immediately or we will come with more firepower. WHY? What did they do to us? Is it because our tiny little leader was embarrassed at his BIG PARADE, and the G7 group were singularly unimpressed with him? In fact, as European leaders were trying to calm the ridiculous bravado that Trump spouted, Trump had his mic killed by Mark Carney because, surprise, surprise... he lies!
So Trump ordered the strike. After he'd stated that negotiation should be the way forward.
I'm terrified of a thin skinned President who responds emotionally and maliciously, particularly when there are NO adults surrounding him. And there is no working congress around him.
Many many R's, Adam K included, call this a good move because an unarmed Iran is ultimately beneificial to the US. What will he feel if/when we suffer a massive 9-11 type strike? What willwe all feel about the President who said if he were in office there would be no wars, but he goes
rashly in and possibly strikes the major blow to a larger battle. I know, but we're so superior in our military might that no one is worried. We'd crush them all, according to many pundits I'm hearing. What I'm hearing is callous arrogance and disrespect. Why didn't Trump tell King Bebe to get to the negotiating table? Is it because Trump knows he's not got the stature of Bebe, Putin, Li or Jung Un - the people he apparently admires most after the reflection in his mirror?
We're in trouble. Real trouble. We are now the country that will harm whomever the Presidents' buddies enemies are if the mood strikes him, and that can occur for the most nonsensical of reasoning, apparently. And then have no transparency, and no apparent next part of the plan. They've claimed victory, and that is that.
The last Republican President that claimed victory left office leaving us in the longest war we've ever been involved in, and we certainly did not win that war.
Referencing the picture of Trump with his "cabinet" behind him, can anyone tell me what Rubio's role actually is? He looks stoned or stunned, I can't quite decide, and it's the look he wears every time I seem him these days. Dazed and confused? Can I please hope that ulcers are killing him from the inside because he betrayed his beliefs, his country and frankly his own people of origin as well. All to stand with the giant orange stain on our country.
It's a hard, sad day for me as an American. I look every day for something to be proud of when looking at my government. I've not seen that in a long time.
Wonder if anyone in the Trump administration can point to any of the countries on a map, where Trump made peace happen. Wonder if they know a third country is involved with Republic of the Congo and Rwanda. Wonder if they know Serbia and Kosovo were actually at war in the late 90s. My guess is no, no, and no.
Just a reminder to everyone that we are NOT at war! So please refrain from saying we are in a war until that actually happens. Who knows, maybe the Orange Blob will get lucky and Iran will give up. I know that's a very, very slim chance, but there is still a chance. Never mind the fact that I will be very reluctant to give him credit if that happens.
All that said, I hope the American public is ready for the random terrorist attacks that are likely to result from this act. I also hope they can get used to airport-like security at malls and other facilities where large numbers of people gather. I am sure certain members of the GOP are silently grumbling about that as they look forward to a very ugly 2026 election cycle. 22year old Thomas Fugate is about to be seriously tested if this all goes down as most terrorism experts believe. My guess is that "Junior" will get eaten alive and tossed to the sharks when he comes up short on managing the terrorist attacks that are likely coming.
I listened to the head of the IAEA this morning on GPS basically echo Tulsi Gabbard's remarks from March stating that, as far as the IAEA could determine, Iran is not building nuclear weapons. It will be fascinating to find out if Trump bought into a line of BS from Netanyahu and Israeli intelligence.
Regrets?!?!? I am sure it's not just Democrats that have regrets about voting to confirm a number of Trump's cabinet secretaries. It's just the GOPers are not allowed to voice their regrets in public.
Nobel prize! Nobel prize! My guess is that the Nobel committee is not cowed by our Orange Deranger in Chief. So, I think he'll have a new target to go after on Truth Social.
The Gang of 7 who voted for Noem's confirmation do not get a mulligan. These are the Democrats who deserve a stiff primary challenger. One with some cajones.
Insanity vs. Malignant Narcissism
Or Co-morbidity ...ies plural
Auggie has such an intelligent look about him. Could we please make him the Secretary of Defense?

the irony bit you mention above yes
Two thoughts: 1. The God references are a dog whistle to the evangelicals hoping for the end times. 2. Fugate is only two letters away from Fugazi.

What’s it going to take to get him out? That’s the big question. I want to know how to stop him from the talking heads

Congress is dead
You are sadly right on point.
Trump in the past has spelled the “NOBLE” Peace Prize this way,
An insult to the real honesty and goodness of Nobel Peace Prize! Does that say it all?
Trump should be deleted from their List.
Wonder if anyone in the Trump administration can point to any of the countries on a map, where Trump made peace happen. I do not profess to know the answer whether this will work out. I think it was the right decision, but I know it was made by the wrong man.
Good morning Auggie!

I am wondering if all the TACO talk spurred him on
